River Cottage.
It’s certainly no secret to my friends and family that I am a huge River Cottage fan. The UK television series, book series, and culinary empire began as a single show on Channel 4 called “A Cook on the Wildside”. Since then, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall has taken on factory farming, the commercial fishing industry and policy, and introduced thousands of people to a grow/gather/hunt-your-own lifestyle. In doing so, he has built River Cottage into a brand that brings small farming, the wild larder, sustainability, and culinary expertise together in an entertaining and instructive way.
Now in its 16th season on Channel 4 in the UK, River Cottage can be difficult to find in the U.S. I have found a few sites with some episodes, probably the most comprehensive one being stagevu.
