Field Trip – Montana
I grew up going to this place…
Our cabin in the Beartooth Mountains of Montana has been in our family since the 1920s, and it was one of a handful that didn’t burn down in a 1996 fire that swept through the area.
My dad and I drove the 17 hours each way from forest glen road to return a car to a friend there and attend an event at the lake. The event was part of an effort to prevent a proposed hydroelectric dam on this river:
I probably don’t need to go into the reasons why a dam on this river is a ridiculous idea.

This looks like paradise, what a remarkable place. Great shots too. Must have been truly magic being there as a child.
I feel very lucky to be able to visit this place from time to time. There is a Forest Service campground there as well, which I recommend visiting if you are ever in Montana.
Stunning! Makes me miss the mountains of Alberta.
I have never been to Alberta…only BC. It’s definitely on the travel agenda!
This looks does look like heaven! Take me there please!
