Buffalo Soldiers on Bikes.
From Ben Ferencz:
@DYKC wrote a great piece for the Freeman Transport Troops (of course i can’t find it now.) I just found this new photo of the Buffalo Soldiers of the 25th Infantry. Stationed at Fort Missoula, they tested the practicality of soldiers traveling by bicycles by conducting numerous training rides, with one ride all the way to St. Louis, Missouri. Interestingly, the Trans-America Bicycle Trail established in 1976 goes through Missoula, and covers some of the routes pedaled by the 25th Regiment.

Ben Canales recently won the National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest with this incredible time-lapse footage at Crater Lake National Park. There really aren’t words to describe this, so give it a look…

I got a last minute invite from Chip McAlpine to join him on his photo trip to Crater Lake National Park to shoot stars.
This was certainly a demanding trip in all aspects: before/during/after, financially, and relationships. But, damn, the results are one of my favorite so far from the years I’ve been shooting stars.

I went out fishing with my friend Traci today. She picked up a nice rainbow, while i got skunked. We grilled this up straight away, with butter and oil, nothing more.

Forest Glen Pizza.
I spent this past week teaching a water quality and macroinvertebrate station at 4H Camp, which was hugely rewarding, but extremely exhausting as well. I was therefore very content to come home to home-made pizza prepared by my beautiful lady and relax on the porch. Best pizza I have ever had…
